LeoVegas Launches Silver Lion – New Lightning Box Games Slot

The new Silver Lion game from Lightning Box Games has been given an exclusive launch on LeoVegas.

The slot game will only be available to LeoVegas.com players until it goes to general release on December 7th.

The 5×4 reel, 1024-way slot features tribesmen and animals such as zebras, hippos, and meerkats, and takes players on a safari across the sweeping plains of the African Savannah in search of the mythical Silver Lion. Players can expect bonus rounds when the lion appears through the undergrowth, along with opportunities to win big prizes.

Designed and built in premium HTML5 for desktop and standard HTML5 for mobile, the game comes with graphics and soundtracks that transport the players to the heart of the wilderness.

Commenting on the game, Lightning Box Managing Director and Co-Founder Peter Causley said: “Silver Lion is a beautiful game which offers players big prizes by multiplying their stacked wins by up to 27 times. The math model behind the game ensures players are engaged and entertained in equal measure.

“It is a great addition to our growing portfolio, and the result of months of hard work from everyone here at Lightning Box Games. We are sure players on LeoVegas will enjoy playing the game as much as we enjoyed making it.”

Head of Casino at LeoVegas, Karolina Pelc, commented on the launch of the game: “We’re very pleased to once again deliver on LeoVegas’ promise of being the first with the latest. We’re confident that Silver Lion will be one of those popular games with all our players.”

Lightning Box Games also recently struck a trio of deals with online casino operators in the UK, with its Stellar Jackpots-Chilli Gold x2 title launching with bet365, Coral and Ladbrokes simultaneously.

Mr Green Moves its Main Market Listing to Nasdaq Stockholm

Online gambling company Mr Green has announced that the company has officially moved its main market listing from Sweden’s mid-sized AktieTorget to the bigger Nasdaq Nordic Market.

The European iGaming operator was founded in 2007 and is now the 76th enterprise to list at Nasdaq’s Nordic markets in 2016.

Earlier last month, Mr Green’s governance stated that it would change its main listing, given that it was a “logical step” for the company’s long-term progression.

Mr Green also believed that its placement on the main Nasdaq Scandinavian market would help the operator in its quest to target international growth, helping it to attract a broader range of investors.

Commenting on the firm’s Nasdaq Nordic listing, Mr Green CEO Per Norman said: “We launched our new technology platform earlier this year and have already started to implement and deliver on our new business strategy, and there is no doubt that our customers like the new Mr Green.”

He added: “I am happy and proud of what our organisation has achieved in such a short period of time and look forward to our journey of change towards continued growth.”

Adam Kostyál, Senior Vice President and Head of European listings at Nasdaq, also commented: “We welcome Mr. Green to the Nasdaq Stockholm main market, where it will make a compelling addition to our consumer services sector.

“Mr Green is yet another example of an online gaming company leveraging Nasdaq Stockholm as a platform for future growth, and we congratulate the company on its listing.”

Reuters reported Mr Green’s financial targets in conjunction with the new listing, stating that the company plans to achieve annual organic growth that exceeds the online gaming industry.

PokerStars First to be Granted Online Poker Licence in Portugal

PokerStars, subsidiary company of Amaya and the largest online poker cardroom in the world, is now the first company to be granted a casino and poker licence to operate its website in the Portuguese market.

The Serviços de Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos (SRIJ) national regulatory body has confirmed that it has awarded the online poker licence to REEL Europe Ltd – a division of Amaya – who will operate the PokerStars website, Pokerstars.pt.

The new website is currently under development, displaying a “coming soon” splash screen. Following the recent Portuguese gaming laws, however, when the site does eventually launch, betting services will be limited until a deal is struck to share liquidity with other regulated gaming markets within the European Union, such as Italy, Spain and France.

The SRIJ licence entitles PokerStars to offer tournament poker, Hold’em and Omaha cash games, as well as Blackjack and Roulette. The new website will mark the first time for Portuguese players to be able to gamble legally on PokerStars since the company left the market in July 2015 following the country’s adoption of new gambling regulation.

PokerStars made its official debut in Bulgaria’s new regulated market and was joined earlier this month by Bet365’s iPoker skin. The duo has now been joined by GVC Holdings’ Bwin.party, which launched a Bulgarian-licenced poker site under its Bwin brand. The company has informed players that held Bwin poker accounts before the country imposed its new licensing regime where their old account info is no longer valid and they must open a new account.

Playtech Officially Launches New Prestige Baccarat

Online gambling software development company Playtech has officially launched its new Prestige Baccarat live dealer casino offering.

The provider announced the second instalment of its Prestige live casino suite on Tuesday, following last year’s launch of Prestige Roulette.

SiGMA raises the bar with mega successful show

The third edition of SiGMA broke all records. The island has never witnessed an iGaming bonanza this spectacular, this successful: everyone walked out a winner. The organisers anticipated close to 3,000 attendees, with the final numbers edging 4,000, double last year’s numbers. This was clearly visible on the expo floor, which was extremely
busy on both days.
SiGMA16 Expo & Conferences Day 1

The iGaming storm came to Malta on 16-19th November. The organisers behind SiGMA pulled off an impressive number of strategic partnerships, culminating in a much anticipated Malta Gaming Week, bringing the entire gaming community together; from affiliates and operators to regulators and vendors.

After receiving plenty of great feedback, this year’s summit saw some great upgrades, including the fact that over 300 affiliates flew to Malta for free, from the organisers’ own pockets. There are plans to reignite this idea with 300 fresh flights, but for new affiliates, thus injecting the show with “fresh attendee blood”.

SiGMA16 Expo & Conferences Day 1Following last year’s overwhelming interest in conferences, the organisers switched to a bigger conference hall, with completely redesigned layout. Instead of standard theatre style setting, the room was set up cabaret style, with round tables, giving the attendees a better opportunity for discussion and networking.

Free standing lunch for all the delegates was also introduced on both days. It gave the attendees more time for business during those busy days.

SiGMA16 BiG Charity Dinner & Gaming AwardsThe BiG Charity Dinner was brought to SiGMA for the first time as well, one day before the exhibition officially opened. It was a fantastic night of sports stories and brilliant entertainment, simultaneously raising money to enhance the quality of life of injured, sick or terminally ill individuals around the world, with a focus on the healing power of sport.

First edition of Malta Gaming Awards was held together with the BiG Foundation Dinner at the InterContinental Ball Room.

SiGMA16 BiG Charity Dinner & Gaming Awards
6 winners were chosen in the following categories:

Affiliate Of The Year – Winner: Game Lounge Limited

Careers Program – Winner: Tipico Careers

Corporate Responsibility – Winner: Maltco

Fastest Growing Operator – Winner: Evoke

Innovator – Winner: Join Games

Investor – Winner: Optimizer Invest

Among the other new events introduced during SiGMA16, the SiGMA Startup Pitch, brought together nine startups and seven investors under one roof. With so many investors wanting to join the gaming scene in Malta as well as worldwide startups, there’s never been a better time to launch this session. Real big names, including Morten Klein (Cherry Group), Ory Weihs (XLMedia) and Carla Maree Vella from Optimizer Invest were among the investors grilling the start-ups.

Each startup had three minutes to present their project and then faced a seven minute session of Q&A from the investors and the audience in a Dragon’s Den-like environment. Despite initial fears, the format worked marvels, and not a single member from the audience was bored given fast paced session.

The winner of the first edition is Commologic, an innovative sports betting software provider based in Israel and licensed in UK, Malta and Denmark. Their first game, BetUP, the world’s first inplay betting cash tournament game, has recently gone live with Unibet and The Football Pools.

Preparations for SiGMA17 are already in full swing. The details on the next edition will be announced in early 2017, but booths are already selling fast. Stay tuned and check maltaigamingsummit.com for regular updates.

NYX Gaming Extends UK Presence with Rank Group Casino Content Deal

Leading digital gaming provider NYX Gaming Group has announced that a selection of its casino titles has gone live with UK gambling operator The Rank Group.

The agreement sees NYX Gaming delivering gaming content developed by its in-house NextGen Gaming studio via the Open Gaming System (OGS). The first titles have already been rolled out.

It is also important to note that the OGS platform hosts titles developed by third-party gaming studios and that NYX Gaming will supply the UK operator with some of them, too.

The latest partnership represents an extension of the Canada-listed provider’s presence into the highly popular and competitive UK gambling market.

Commenting on the announcement, NXY Gaming Commercial Director David Johnson said that, following the quick integration of the OGS platform, his company is now able to boost Rank’s casino offering with in-house produced gaming content as well as products by recognised developers that NYX Gaming has been representing.

Adam Joseph, Director of Digital Operations at Grosvenor Casinos – Rank’s casino gambling brand, said that the deal marks a partnership between two leading gambling companies – an operator and a supplier – and that they are excited about providing “the widest breadth” of gaming content to be available in the market.

Grosvenor Casinos manages the largest chain of brick-and-mortar casinos around the UK as well as a casino website. Apart from Grosvenor Casinos, the major gambling operator also runs the UK-facing Mecca online and retail bingo brand, as well as the Spain-facing Enracha bingo brand.

The announcement about the expansion came shortly after the company posted its results from the third quarter of the year, during which NYX Gaming launched its products with eight new clients. The supplier’s revenue for the quarter ending 30th September totalled C$54.4 million, up 308.9% from the same period in the previous year. The revenue jump was attributed to recent acquisition activity, including the purchase of online sportsbook provider OpenBet.

Ladbrokes, Coral and Betfred Offer Bets into HKJC Pools

Following an agreement between Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) and the UK Tote, Ladbrokes, Coral and Betfred customers in the UK will now be able to place bets on the pari-mutuel pools in Hong Kong.

The operators will accept bets both online and in betting shops for the tote pools, although fixed-odds betting will not be available. The live broadcasts will be distributed by SIS.

HKJC’s Executive Director Richard Cheung commented: “Given its tremendous legacy in the sport of horseracing, it is a great pleasure to welcome the UK to our expanding list of co-mingling jurisdictions.

“While we are certain that UK racing fans will be attracted to the world-class racing, especially with our Longines Hong Kong International Races looming on Sunday, December 11, our midweek racing, often at Happy Valley, is a perfect midday option for customers.”

The HKJC anticipates making more agreements with UK operators within the coming months. Commenting on this, the co-mingling director George Irvine said: “A high street presence is a must in the UK market, and this agreement will enable some of the world’s finest racing fans to participate in the excitement of Hong Kong’s competitive racing.

“This deal ensures Hong Kong racing will be available in thousands of retail betting outlets, while future agreements we are finalising will enable delivery direct to millions of UK households. Meanwhile, the placement of Hong Kong race cards in the Racing Post will reliably inform punters in a familiar style.”
