Gamevy’s Innovative Skill and Strategic Games Now Live with Betsson

Award-winning supplier and operator Gamevy has announced that its content has officially been launched with leading Swedish gambling operator Betsson AB.

When speaking about the launch, Gamevy Marketing Director and co-founder Helen Walton said: “Betsson’s renowned for offering unusual and engaging content to their customers. So we approached them early and were delighted by their response to the games! We are confident that this will be an exciting partnership, and we have great plans for the future.”

Gamevy’s content has been delivering excellent results with lottery and sportsbook players in Germany, Austria, Sweden and Russia. Acting as an innovative conversion path to the games and casino tab, the games appeal to a softer player base and to younger customers.

The London-based supplier and operator is still fairly new to the industry and is inspired to offer instant wins where players can push their luck, show their skills, and get the chance to win a life-changing jackpot. Their games are live across Europe, proving special popularity with a broad demographic of players.

Betsson AB offers a number of online gambling products such as casino, poker, bingo, sports betting and scratch cards.

The gambling operator will also be one of the exhibitors showcasing at Malta’s biggest upcoming gaming event of the year, SiGMA16. If you are interested in joining this iGaming summit in November, click here to register today.

Betsson’s Sportsbook Boosts Revenue in Q1

Recently appointed as president and chief executive of Betsson, Ulrik Bengtsson has paid tribute to the operator’s sportsbook’s continuous success after the firm achieved a year-on-year revenue increase during the three months up to March 31st.

In the first quarter, revenue totalled SEK 1 billion (€109 million/$123.1 million), representing an 18% increase on the SEK 847.4 million posted during last year’s corresponding period, but due to exchange rate fluctuations, it was burdened by SEK 44.7 million.

Betsson’s sportsbook business posted 27% year-on-year organic revenue growth, with SEK 6.7 billion of turnover coming in, up from last year’s SEK 6.1 billion.

Operating income also went up to SEK 250.1 million from SEK 238 million, while income before tax increased to SEK 246.9 million from SEK 236.4 million.

Net income, in addition, expanded to SEK 234 million from SEK 224.1 million, which corresponded to SEK 1.69 per share, rising from last year’s SEK 1.62 in the same period.

Bengtsson, who began his new role with the firm in February, said that “Organic growth continues to be strong; this is the eighth consecutive quarter where growth in constant currency has exceeded market growth in our core markets.

“Betsson’s consumer brands are doing particularly well, with organic growth in constant currency of 21%, and sportsbook is growing, despite low historical margins, with organic growth of 27 per cent in constant currency. The underlying activity continues to be strong, with growth of 45% in active customers, which during the quarter was 538,077.

“The “old” Betsson has now been fully migrated to the shared technical platform, which further strengthens the possibilities for good growth.”

Malta’s largest gaming company reacts to refugee crisis

Betsson, the biggest igaming companyscreen-shot-2015-09-10-at-22-04-40 based in Malta, decided to donate its online advertising placements for helping refugees escaping war-torn Syria. The money will be entrusted to Red Cross. Besides the donations, Betsson also supported developing the advertisements that appeared on and

It is worth mentioning, that it was a grass roots initiative which came from the Betsson employees. Their idea was to collect as much money as possible to deliver the humanitarian aid to those in need.

Betsson also encouraged other companies to join the movement and help hundreds of thousands suffering.

Betsson profits grow, bigger workforce needed

Betsson, whose Malta-base employs a strong 750+ workforce, saw revenue rise by almost 25% in the last quarter of 2014, a new quarterly record of €86 Million. 2014 overall figures leaped forward in part thanks to last February’s acquisition of the Oranje and Kroon Casino brands. Poker profits, in contrast, fell by 20% due to Poker’s declining popularity in Betsson-friendly markets, specifically Scandinavian.

In light of this steady growth, Ulrik Bengtsson (Betsson CEO) argued that the gaming sector in Malta was finding it difficult to hire suitable candidates with the right talent. As a result, with the support from the University of Malta, this summer, paid internships will be offered to University students reading degrees in statistics, computing and data sciences.

Bengtsson went on to elaborate, “We have found it very hard to recruit in this field and can easily absorb those who are qualified. The interesting thing is that many of the students do not realise that these skills are required for i-gaming. It is not intuitive that we also require statisticians and data scientists.”

Internship applications will be open until the 20th February, 2015. The outcome will be announced by March same year. Further information may be collected by emailing Betsson at

Betsson’s acquisition of NordicBet – an update

Since the official acquisition of NordicBet by igaming giant Betsson in October 2012, NordicBet has been making strategic moves into the spotlight.

Back in December 2013, live dealer specialist Evolution Gaming announced that it had launched a live casino offering for  NordicBet. The agreement came after NordicBet had just confirmed making Evolution Gaming its primary live casino services provider. With NordicBet came its affiliate brands, TrioBet and Maxino, so the offer came as a natural consequence, said NordicBet representative.

The new service for the website included Evolution’s generic live roulette, blackjack and baccarat tables. NordicBet also gained access to Evolution’s turnkey native speaker dealer tables, inclusive of Svensk Roulette, Deutsches Roulette and Ruletka Live, as well as the exclusive private Norske Roulette services, just to mention a few.

NordicBet’s casino manager, Simon Högberg had commented at that time: “Above all it was the sheer quality, volume and variety of the live tables and associated services available that made Evolution the right choice for us. This now gives us the platform from which to deliver a truly world-class live table gaming experience to players in all of our markets.”

Just a couple of days ago, a deal was struck between NordicBet as to become an official partner of the Champions Hockey League (CHL) European club ice hockey competition.

The deal in place states that the partnership will run for a period of  three years, debuting in the 2014-15 season and ending in the 2016-17 campaign.

Under the agreement, NordicBet will become the CHL’s official sports betting partner. The igaming company will be entitled to  exclusivity in the sports betting category,  and will also present a statistic selection of the CHL on its website.

The NordicBet branding will also be present on perimeter boards during all CHL games and benefit from full integration across official CHL communications and other promotional materials, which will include the CHL streaming platform and website.

The 2014 – 2015 season of Champions Hockey League will commence on the 21st August 2014.
