Interview with Staffan Bergh from Revshare Group Ltd

SiGMA met Staffan Bergh, Director of Revshare Group Ltd, who is taking part in Affiliate Grand Slam in Tallinn this April.

Hello Staffan, how are you?  Are you ready for the Tallinn Affiliate Grand Slam  2017? 

Hi Marius, I´m doing well thank you! Yes I will be joining the event and looking forward to meet both old and new potential partners. And of course its always a pleasure to meet you Marius.

How did you come to enter the online
gaming space and set up your company?

Actually it’s a long story but in a nutshell. I was in Malta on vacation with my family when I was 19 and whilst playing poker at Dragonara Casino I was offered a job and 9 years later im still here!

Can you tell us a little about how your company business is structured?

Yes! So basically we do mainly SEO in Scandinavia. Norway and Finland is our biggest markets. Its a lot of fun and challenging at the same time.

With the recent wave of consolidation, mergers and acquisitions of affiliate sites, are you surprised at all of the changes happening in the industry?

I would say its quite normal, in any business niche the big guy is always gonna try to take as big of a chunk of the market as he can.

A number of your competitors have gone down the real money operator route, and tried their hand at white labels. Have you also done this?

Not really, my aim has always been to grow the main business and create longterm relationships with our partners. Its easy to lose focus if you have too many projects running at the same time.

Developing unique content is a key pillar of your strategy. What will be your primary focus on this front over the next 6 months?

Its basically to keep growing the business and especially hire more people to increase the team.

Which markets  do you focus on and do you see any potential in the emerging markets ?

Like I mentioned earlier in the interview its mainly Scandinavia but we are dipping our feet into other markets, so I believe 2017 is gonna be an exiting year.

How do you find Scandic markets and competition?

I would say its one of the tougher markets to get into but with that said I don’t have much experience regards to other markets and the competition.

How have Google’s algorithm updates affected the way you go about traffic generation, SEO and content at your company?

If you build your business in a way so you can easily adapt to changes, you will be fine. For me personally its just been positive.

Are there any exciting plans in the works that you can tell us about?

I will keep growing my team of online marketing experts and probably go into more markets.

What two pieces of advice would you give to any new affiliate starting today?

If you are humble, patient and work hard you are always gonna get where you want to be.

Do you play slots and what would you do with 1 million Euro from jackpot winnings?

I don’t play that often but sometimes I do just for fun. I would say my favourite game is Secrets of the stone by Netent. If I would win 1 million I think I would just invest the money in the company.
