The GIG opens a new office located in St Julians to support the rapid expansion
On Thursday evening, the Prime Minister Joseph Muscat inaugurated the new offices of the Gaming Innovation Group located in St Julian’s.
The company has shown an outstanding growth since it opened in 2012. This number has now grown to 650. According to GIG chief executive, Robin Eirik Reed, the company is planning to employ another 90 workers. What’s more, it will open new modern offices at Pender Gardens, St Julian’s, next year.
Robin Reed has found the space he needed for success, describing Malta as the country with an economy which is among the best in the world. “What I saw is an amazing community, and in Malta one [had] understood the digital industry, all the resources, an agile community and we thought it is perfect to be here,” he said.
According to Prime Minister Muscat, the inauguration of the new GIG offices is a clear sign of how the roots of the Gaming continue to grow in Malta. Dr Muscat added that GIG contributes to the employment landscape and with 30% of workers of GIG being Maltese, the company gives Maltese workers an access to quality jobs in the iGaming industry.
CEO Robin Eirik Reed took the PM on a tour. Reed told him about the amazing benefits that the lucky employees of GIG have. Not only do they have an organic breakfast and free lunch — employees of GIG have a recreational area and access to a free gym. The company provides flexible working hours to its workers and female employees have an opportunity to work from home and paternity leave consisting of six weeks leave paid by the company.
