BetVictor, an online bookmaker, has kicked off a particularly ambitious fight for Euro2016 punters by offering £1million to one lucky individual who’s ready to take on a challenge.
Euro2016 will officially be underway on June 10th, and bookmakers are already fighting for the billions of pounds expected to be wagered on the quadrennial UEFA competition.
BetVictor announced the launch of The Million Pound Goal promotion this week, which requires bettors to identify which player will score the first goal in the final match, as well as the minute in which the goal is scored.
Punters must place a minimum bet of £5 on any Euro2016 match or the tournament winner market in order to qualify for entry, and can earn as many as five additional entries for similar Euro2016 wagers, or by playing BetVictor’s new slots title and virtual sports offering.
Once the two final teams are determined following the second semi-final on July 7th, qualified punters will be allowed to make their selections. The precise way of how the crucial goal is scored is not important – even an own goal counts – but the “who” and “when” categories must prove a match.
If one winner correctly predicts the two data points, he/she will win the full £1million. If multiple entries get it right, the £1milllion will be divided among the winners. Should no punter predict the correct data, the prize will go to the next closest entry.
Being promoted across TV, radio, print, and digital and outdoor advertising, the campaign was created in conjunction with Mr President, BetVictor’s creative agency. The promos feature legendary football commentator Barry Davies. CalvinAyre.com’s attention will naturally be focused on the real Euro2016 competition, namely which Asian nation will bust more illegal betting operators. Vietnam had a strong showing during Euro2012, but the bet is on Malaysia this time round.
