Better Collective finished off 2017 with a final deal with Goal.pl Group
In order to expand its presence in the regulated Polish market the company purchased the assets of Goal.pl Group.
The company has been following a strong Merger and Acquisition Strategy in 2017. This deal marks the eight biggest deal of the year.
Better Collective expressed that the purchase of the well-known Polish group will support its long-term strategy. Further plans are to expand the companies presence within more European regulated markets.
Even though a lot of sports wagering companies left the Polish market last year, the company plans to profit from the latest regulation of the sports betting industry and the regions expanding economy.
The Goal.pl Group was founded in 2002 and consists of over 15 domains. As a result of offering engaging content for bettors, it is boasting over a million visitors monthly. Examples for its content are sports betting tips, iGaming communities and bookmaker information.
The Head of M&A at Better Collective, Michal Kopec, stated, “We are very excited to announce this acquisition. We see a lot of potential in the sports betting sector in Poland, and we are confident that with the 2018 World Cup around the corner, and new operators applying for Polish sport betting licences, we will be able to drive this business forward.
“Goal.pl Group’s previous owner has done a great job in developing their network, and we are keen to add our own expertise to bring the sites to the next level. Plus, after making seven other acquisitions across Europe in 2017, I’m personally very happy to close out the year with a deal being reached in my home nation of Poland.”
In the same time in Poland, National prosecutor, Bogdan Święczkowski, has made a decision to relaunch a 2006 – 2011 investigation into irregularities of gambling taxation. Before it was closed during the the Tusk administration.
