Streamlining efforts expected to improve efficiency
A restructuring effort has been announced by iGaming giant Betsson that is expected to result in a group-wide downsizing. The overall headcount is expected to decrease by 160, although no information was released as to how this figure is to be distributed. A company spokesperson stated that the goal of the restructuring effort is increased efficiency and streamlining.
The adjustments implemented this month are expected to save the company SEK 50-60 million annually. The costs associated with the restructuring will be recognised in the interim report for the first quarter 2018.
“In cooperation with the operational management team, we have started to implement actions to improve operations. The restructured organisation will be more streamlined with clearer responsibilities, which I believe will improve its efficiency over time,” said CEO Betsson AB Pontus Lindwall.”
Betsson currently has 1,100 employees based in Malta, but it is unclear how many of the planned cuts will be made in that office.
