The donation will help the International Medical Corps reaching disaster zones and providing health and medical care instantly, as opposed to waiting for the necessary amount of money to be raised first.
The funds were raised by the customers of 888casino after the company’s Christmas appeal. The money will also allow the International Medical Corps’ staff to stay in communities that need help for longer, so that they can train locals and make up the local health care system.
Director of Resource Development and Communications at International Medical Corps UK Kerry-Jane Kingsmill said: “This Christmas Appeal’s support means that 888casino’s customers are enabling International Medical Corps to deploy immediately.”
“Speed saves lives in an emergency – the initial hours are critical for those affected. International Medical Corps will be able to deploy right away, and stay, making the lasting difference,” she added.
888casino has been cooperating with the charity since 2013. So far, the company donated multiple campaigns, such as supporting those affected by Ebola Crisis in West Africa and victims of Typhoon Haiyan.
