Omar Bitar

Omar Bitar is an Organisational Psychologist with more than a decade of experience from HR in iGaming here in Malta, mainly through his roles at, Betclic, and now Pokerstars. He also has been a guest lecturer on a number of occasions at the University of Malta on topic such as Research and Statistics, HR, Psychology and Management.

Katharina Mifsud

Katharina has been in the iGaming Industry for the last 4 years and works as HR Business Partner at Tipico Co. Ltd. Holding a Master’s Degree in International Cultural and Business Studies and a CIPD Level 7 certification, she is specialised in Talent Management and Career Development.

Her innovative and pragmatic approach is supported by 10 years of experience as trainer, coach and consultant in Personnel and International HR Development. She has worked with multicultural teams in different European and South American countries.

Katharina believes that every employee has talents and it’s crucial to assure that these skills are deployed to unfold a company’s full potential.

Marvin Cuschieri

Marvin Cuschieri read his Masters in European Studies at the Zentrum für Europäische Integrationsforschung (Centre for European Studies), Bonn, Germany, has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in International Relations from the University of Malta and a Certificate in Financial Management from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA). He currently heads the Foundation for Human Resource Development (FHRD), an organisation offering a myriad of management and HR services.

Previously, Marvin was Head of the Business & Investment Consultancy Unit within Malta Enterprise, where he managed a team of business consultants offering business advisory services to Malta-based companies, and worked at Impetus Europe, a joint venture between Fenlex and MISCO, offering business consultancy services to Maltese and European private companies and public entities. Marvin’s main interest include business development, people management, start-ups, EU-related consultancy and international affairs.

Martin Schillig

Martin is an experienced, hands-on and creative HR professional with 7 years’ experience in the iGaming industry. In his role as HR Manager at Betsson Group, Martin and his team are responsible for the HR Shared Services across Betsson Group. Furthermore, his team is tasked with ensuring that Betsson Group truly offers one of the best employee experience in the industry. Martin’s agile mindset makes him passionate about people analytics and in applying data and technology to successfully create a world-class employee experience and make employees feel engaged.

Saviour Balzan

Saviour Balzan is the founder and co-owner of MaltaToday. He has reported on Maltese politics and society for the last 30 years. In his early days he was actively involved in the Green lobby and later the Green Party. He put politics behind him two decades ago and immersed himself in journalism, working to set up newspapers such as il-Fehma, l-Alternattiva, The People and The Independent daily.

MaltaToday was launched in 1999 and soon became the leading no holds barred issue oriented newspaper. In recent years he has been engaged in setting up the digital edition of MaltaToday and a Maltese Sunday newspaper Illum. He has also hosts a TV programme Reporter. In February of last year he published his first book ‘Saying as it Is,’ Volume I.

Matthew Camilleri

Matthew is a Chartered Accountant by profession having qualified with PwC London in their Banking and Capital markets division, eventually moving to Corporate Finance advisory.  Matthew founded Castille in 2006 as a specialist recruitment brand and has been developing the business ever since which todays boasts specialist recruitment in Tech and Finance, Executive search, Castille Institute and Castille Software Labs which operates branded offshore delivery centres.

Paul Micallef Grimaud

Paul Micallef Grimaud is a Partner at GANADO Advocates and heads the firm’s IP&TMT practice group. Paul’s focus is dedicated to counselling and assisting clients in the media, technology and entertainment space (including remote gaming) in the drafting and negotiation of contracts, content and end-user related matters, the registration, protection and enforcement of IP rights, and competition and passing off disputes.

Paul is a warranted advocate and regularly appears before the inferior and superior courts of Malta representing clients on a number of commercial disputes, particularly in the areas of IP, telecoms, competition and corporate law.

Mirko Rapa

Mirko provides tax advice to a wide and varied portfolio of clients. Mirko Rapa has gained international experience, which included a secondment to the international tax department at PwC Berlin. Over the past 14 years he has provided tax advice to companies operating in a number of sectors and to individuals taking up residence in Malta.  Some of the assignments in which Mirko was involved included assisting a number of leading multinational groups with tax due diligence exercises and structuring their operations in Malta.

He regularly contributes to a number of fiscal publications in respect of adequate substance requirements, holding companies, transfer pricing, fiscal implications of investing in Malta and setting up business in Malta. For the past 12 years, Mirko has also lectured advanced taxation to students preparing for the ACCA and the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation examination (CIOT) exams.

Matthew Brincat

Matthew Brincat is a Partner at GANADO Advocates, whose practice mainly revolves around Employment and Pensions, areas of law he believes connect both the human and the corporate aspects of legislation. He has also been heavily involved in the formation of GANADO Advocates’ Employment law department and has gained valuable experience of Industrial Tribunal proceedings.

Matthew is a member of the Lex Mundi European Employment Practices Group and delivers lectures at the Malta Employers Association on Employment Legislation. Matthew is also the co-author of the Malta volume of the Kluwer Encyclopaedia on Labour law and the author of a number of articles in local and foreign magazines and journals in relation to both Employment and Pensions legislation.
